Some people who can see clearly still experience headaches, eye fatigue, neck/shoulder tension, or discomfort during prolonged screen/near work. One possible contributor is binocular misalignment which means that the eyes are having trouble staying focused at the same target. This misalignment can become a big issues since our eye have to work harder to focus on near tasks like reading paperwork, computer screens and other digital devices. Jackson Eye can now objectively measure distance and near eye alignment with the Neurolens N3.
When seeing clearly isn't the same as seeing comfortably.
At Jackson Eye, we can now take a closer look at how your eyes are working together with the Neurolens® N3 measurement system.
You may have heard of prism being used in glasses to help the eyes work together more comfortably. Traditional prism provides essentially the same amount of prism throughout the lens.
What is Contoured Prism?
The amount of prism changes gradually through the lens, allowing your doctor to prescribe different amounts of alignment support for distance and near vision.

Think of it this way:
Your eyes don't necessarily work the same way while driving as they do while staring at a laptop. Your lenses don't have to treat them as if they do.
For the right patient, this customized approach may reduce some of the effort required to keep the eyes working comfortably together.
Neurolens isn't right for everyone—and headaches can have many causes. Our goal is to determine whether the way your eyes work together appears to be one piece of the puzzle.
Is There Research Behind Neurolens? - Yes!
A randomized, double-masked, crossover clinical trial published in Translational Vision Science & Technology evaluated Neurolens contoured-prism lenses in people with headaches.
Researchers used the validated Headache Impact Test (HIT-6) to measure how headaches affected participants' daily lives. The study found a statistically significant improvement in headache-related quality-of-life scores with the contoured-prism lenses compared with the control lenses.
That doesn't mean Neurolens will eliminate every headache or that every headache is caused by eye alignment. It does provide clinical evidence that, for appropriately selected patients, contoured-prism lenses may help reduce the impact of headaches on daily life.
At Jackson Eye, we use that information alongside your symptoms, examination, and N3 measurements to determine whether Neurolens makes sense for you.
